Qidi X-one2 3D Printer Review – Great Value for the Price
Are you in the market for a 3D printer? The Qidi X-one2 is a top choice for you, especially if you’re on a budget. Produced by Qidi technologies, the X-one2 is an overflow of great features and a steal at its price.
This desktop 3D printer is a follow-up version of the Qidi X-one. It certainly has made its mark in the industry with its growing consumer base who rave about it and rate it highly. The Qidi X-one2 finally got my attention. So, come along as I share my review of this device.
Overview of the Qidi X-one2 Single Extruder 3D Printer
Just as with most products made by the Chinese manufacturers, Qidi technologies, the X-one2 provides more value at its cheap rate of roughly $300. Although it doesn’t enjoy a large consumer base, it’s stealthily making its mark in the beginner and semi-professional market. Its touchscreen interface is easy to use and understand, making it a highly recommended 3D printer for beginners.
The Qidi X-one2 offers excellent print quality, performing in the standard of printers three times its price category. The 3D printer is compatible with ABS, TPU, and VLA filaments and produces very impressive prints. I would easily vote its printing quality as this X-one2’s crowning achievement and recommend it to anyone who needs a great plug-and-play printer.
What’s more? This printer is simple to set up and use. It comes almost fully assembled, taking about an hour from unboxing to making your first print. That’s certainly one of the easiest out there. Most of what you need to do is chip in the filaments and get the work started.
It’s also worthy to note that the X-one 2 comes with a bulky tank-like build. While this might look like a turn-off at first glance, it comes in handy when transporting the printer. Its bulky stainless-steel exterior gives it some protection on impact, making the 3D printer durable. Unfortunately, the X-one2 has a relatively small print bed space – a major drawback for a printer of its size.

Unbox with No Sweat
The X-one2 takes on a sturdy weight of 40lbs and a build volume of 5.5 cubic inches. It looks a bit like its predecessor X-one, save for touch-ups like the touch screen and print plate.
The overall structure is more enclosed in acrylic than the X-one, making it safer for use at homes and safe from the ever-curious fingers of kids. X-one2 is almost enclosed (save for its top), and this ensures a steady, uniform temperature while printing.
The Qidi X-one2 comes almost fully assembled; hence you don’t need to break a sweat setting up the printer. It has a USB and SD card containing test prints, set up instructions, and short video tutorials to get you started. Its instruction manual is relatively easy to understand, and it’s a great help when you’re in a tight corner.
The Qidi X-one2 is all shades of plug-and-play. The only hurdle you’ll have to jump through after unboxing this hunk-sized printer is filling the filament and manually leveling the print bed. The print bed can be leveled using the same procedure as other manual leveling printers. This 3D printer’s process is even easier as you’re all set for printing in less than an hour.
The Qidi X-one2, in line with most printers within its price range, doesn’t feature the auto-print bed leveling option.
When in Doubt, Reach Out to A Great Support System
Imagine that you get stuck while setting up. What happens? What do you do?
Qidi tech has an outstanding tech-support platform to help you when you encounter difficulties with the printer. Quite frankly, I don’t always get such a great customer support system. So yeah, it’s a big deal. Qidi’s customer support staff are available round the clock and respond to emails and video calls promptly.
Great for Beginners Too
Are you new to the world of 3D printing? Have no worries, the X-one2 comes with a user friendly, 3.5-inch, full-color touchscreen that makes it easy to navigate through the printer. It also features a bed temperature indicator and shows the print progress from 0% to 100% and the length of time remaining.
The 3D printer comes with its default slicer. It also supports other slicers, such as core. X-one2’s built-in slicer is user friendly and features a full pack of tools like pause and resume. I loaded models using an SD card or USB.
Let’s Rate Its Print
The X-one2 print bed is smaller than the average print bed, but what it lacks in space, it gains in print quality. I found out that the 3D prints are incredibly detailed and are completed in quality time at a speed of 150nm/s.
Just as with most printers, the X-one2 also generates a disturbing but bearable noise while printing. The print bed is also made of high-quality aluminum and can be heated up to 120°C. This feature makes it possible to try out other filaments such as TPU, PETG aside from the company’s recommended PLA and ABS. However, it’s paramount to use the correct temperature setting for each material.
Although it only takes a few minutes to relevel the beds, it’s such a great relief that the X-one2 allows me to print for a long time before releveling, unlike most printers.

The printer is certain to last for years, doling out well carved and detailed 3D models. Besides, the tech support team can help you out when you encounter a problem. X-one2 is suited for home, school, and office use. Despite its drawbacks, it cuts in almost all the right places.
